Far Right Republicans Call For Cuts to Health Care, Food Assistance to Fund Trump’s War

So-called “waste, fraud, and abuse” is back on GOP talking points as reports emerge that taxpayers are on the hook – reportedly $200 billion worth – to fund Trump’s war of choice in Iran that is spiking gas prices at home and making everything more expensive.

The last time Republicans used this phony line they passed the largest cut to Medicaid and food assistance in American history to fund massive tax breaks for billionaires.

CNN reports they are back again, demanding $200 billion in taxpayer dollars to fund Trump’s war, which must be paid for by taking a sledgehammer to Americans’ health care and food assistance programs.

DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“House Republicans gave massive tax breaks to their billionaire backers by gutting Medicaid and food assistance. Now, they’re scheming to do the same thing, this time to fund their war of choice in the Middle East, leaving everyday Americans with the bill.”
