As Part of Chris Collins’ Bid for no Jail Time, Hudson Testified to His Character
Richard Hudson REALLY likes former Congressman Chris Collins.
In fact, the Fayetteville Observer reports that Hudson likes the disgraced Congressman so much he wrote a letter talking up Collins’ character just before he was sentenced to 26 months for insider trading-related charges.
In the letter, Hudson argued Collins “always tried to make decisions with his constituents in mind.” He also said: “I found him to be a loving father and committed husband.”
REMINDER: Collins was charged with and pled guilty to feeding insider information to his son to protect his finances.
But like we said, Hudson really likes Collins. So despite his illegal conduct, his guilty plea, and his pending jail time, Hudson still to this day is proud that he and Collins are “personal friends.”
“If these are the type of friends Hudson makes in Congress it’s no wonder his record is chock full of votes to enrich himself and his corporate donors at the expense of hardworking families,” said DCCC spokesperson Sarah Guggenheimer. “Since Hudson clearly values his friendship with Collins, he’ll be pleased to know he’ll have all the time in the world to visit his friend in jail once he’s voted out of office in November.”
