Today, the DCCC released its first ad in Illinois’ 13th Congressional District, “Working For,” which airs beginning today and reminds voters who Rodney Davis is working for in Congress. Hint: It’s not voters in Central Illinois.
While Davis has taken more than half a million dollars in campaign contributions from the insurance industry, he’s voted to charge older Americans five times more for their care and voted 11 times to strip protections for pre-existing conditions. And while he voted for the Republican tax scam that would save big drug companies forty billion in tax giveaways, he voted against a bipartisan bill to lower the cost of prescription drugs.
Don’t forget – Davis’ Big Pharma allies are so intent on keeping him in Congress that they’ve already spent at least $350,000 in the last two months propping up Davis, trying to district voters from his votes against lowering the cost of prescription drugs.
“Since Rodney Davis came to Washington it’s clear he’s forgotten his constituents in Central Illinois. Just look at who funds his campaign – Big Pharma and the insurance industry, and Davis is working hand in hand with them to keep insurance premiums and prescription drug prices high. One thing is for certain: Rodney Davis isn’t looking out for us,” said DCCC Spokesperson Courtney Rice.

Narrator:
Who’s Rodney Davis working for?
Davis’s campaign took half a million dollars from the insurance industry
And he voted for a plan that would raise our rates…
…allow insurance companies to charge older Americans five times more…
…and gut protections for preexisting conditions.
Davis even voted to give the big drug companies forty billion in new tax giveaways…
…and protected their profits by voting against a plan to lower prescription drug costs.
