FLASHBACK FRIDAY: Ryan Mackenzie Called the Affordable Care Act “Infringements Upon Our Rights”

On this Friday, take a trip down memory lane and listen to vulnerable Pennsylvania Republican Congressman Ryan Mackenzie – in his own words – talk about his opposition to affordable health care.

During his time in the state legislature, Mackenzie called the ACA “infringements upon our rights,” and said the health care program had turned “out to be more of a disaster than I think anybody ever imagined.” 

Mackenzie also reportedly “bragged about opposing setting up a state exchange” – admitting that he was actively working as a state legislator to prevent Pennsylvanians from being able to access affordable health care.

Now, because of Mackenzie’s longstanding opposition to the ACA, Lehigh Valley families are facing skyrocketing health care costs or even going without health insurance coverage entirely.
