Valadao reverses course to vote against uncovering the truth about January’s fatal attack on the Capitol
Last month, vulnerable GOP Rep. David Valadao voted to create an independent commission to investigate the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol, saying he was “appalled by what took place on January 6th.”
How times have changed.
Today, Valadao voted to stop a bipartisan commission from uncovering the truth about how the violent attack on our democracy happened.
With this vote, Valadao is cowering to extremists and turning his back on our democracy in an attempt to cover up the truth.
Why is Valadao now so determined to hide the truth?
“Instead of working to find out how a violent mob broke into the U.S. Capitol and put the lives of members, staff, Capitol Police, and the Vice President in grave danger, Rep. David Valadao is now working to make sure the truth never sees the light of day,” said DCCC Spokesperson Adrian Eng-Gastelum. “Valadao and House Republicans have clearly found common cause with extremists and insurrectionists, and the people of the Central Valley deserve better than this dangerous hyper-partisan effort to block the truth.”
