Miller-Meeks flip-flops and falls in line, joining her party in voting against uncovering the truth about January’s fatal attack on the Capitol
Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks was one of a handful of Republicans who voted last month to create an independent commission to investigate the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6th. But despite “defend[ing] [her] vote for an independent commission on the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol attack” and saying “it’s important to establish the timeline” earlier this month, now Miller-Meeks is flip-flopping and falling in line with party leaders.
Miller-Meeks just caved to stop a bipartisan commission from uncovering the truth about how the violent attack on our democracy happened.
With this vote, Miller-Meeks is cowering to extremists and turning her back on our democracy in an attempt to cover up the truth.
What is she so determined to hide?
“Flip-flopping Miller-Meeks has abandoned her charade of pretending she wants to find out the truth of how a violent mob broke into the U.S. Capitol and put the lives of members, staff, Capitol Police, and the Vice President in grave danger,” said DCCC Spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “Her caucus has clearly found common cause with extremists and insurrectionists, and Iowans deserve better than Miller-Meeks who will flip-flop on protecting our democracy when it becomes politically convenient.”
