Florida Republicans Continue to Lead on Election Fraud

And not in the good way!

The Miami Herald has released an investigation showing that Florida Republicans changed the party registration of more than 100 voters without their consent.

According to the Miami Herald, “canvassers from the Republican Party of Florida … submitted the form that changed [one voter] from Democrat to Republican on Dec. 22, 2021. Later, Republican canvassers submitted a second form, again marking her down as a Republican.”

The strategy was taken to apartment buildings across Miami:

“The pattern was repeated in low-income housing complexes throughout Hialeah and Little Havana, a Herald investigation found. A team of reporters visited eight locations where voter registration data showed unusually high numbers of voters switching from one party to another last year. The reporters knocked on every door where someone’s party affiliation had changed. Four out of every five voters who spoke to the Herald — 141 in total — said that their party affiliation had been changed without their knowledge.”

The actions of Florida Republicans raise several questions about their ability to win elections in the Sunshine State without resorting to election fraud tactics they hypocritically purport to be against.

In 2020, Florida Republicans picked up a competitive state senate seat thanks to the machinations of former Republican state legislator Frank Artiles, who has been indicted for illegally financing a ‘ghost candidate’ with the same last name as the Democratic incumbent and successfully helped throw the election for the GOP.

DCCC Spokesperson Abel Iraola
“It is rich that the party that says it wants to fight election fraud is the one that keeps being associated with election fraud in Florida. From illegally financing ‘ghost candidates’ in state elections to illegally changing the voter registration of unsuspecting seniors without their consent, Florida Republicans have absolutely no moral compass for how to conduct themselves in a democracy. Will Carlos Giménez or María Elvira Salazar ever call out their party’s unethical, illegal and antidemocratic tactics, or will they just continue to quietly benefit from them?”
