Former York GOP Chair Rescinds Support for Scott Perry Following Racist Comments

Yesterday, Congressman Scott Perry drew widespread criticism for his comments that systemic racism isn’t real and that black deaths in the U.S. have been sensationalized. Last night, the former Chair of the York Republican Party withdrew his support for Perry and made the maximum contribution to DePasquale.

“After hearing of, and reading about the comments from Congressman Perry today at the rotary event here in York County, I now feel that new leadership is needed now more than ever.

This evening, both my wife and I have made maximum contributions to Eugene DePasquale who will be a much needed breath of fresh air that all citizens from all social economic classes of south central PA needs.”

“These comments from Scott Perry are reprehensible and just the latest evidence that he has lost touch with South Central Pennsylvania,” said DCCC Spokesperson Courtney Rice. “This won’t be the last time a Republican abandons Scott Perry between now and Election Day.”
