Ahead of tonight’s virtual town hall, 5th District Indiana Republicans will be forced to go on the record to defend their party’s disastrous agenda that leaves working- and middle-class Hoosiers behind. Here are four questions Carl Brizzi, Victoria Spartz, Beth Henderson, Kelly Mitchell, Chuck Dietzen, and the rest of the candidates must answer:
- Do they support the Washington GOP-backed lawsuit to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, despite being in the middle of a global pandemic?
- Do they support the administration’s suggested “pause” in federal aid to state and local governments, even though 612,000 Hoosiers filed for unemployment in the last seven weeks?
- Do they support their party’s tax plan that rewarded big corporations and the wealthiest few at the expense of the middle class?
- Will Victoria Spartz, Chuck Dietzen, Beth Henderson, Carl Brizzi, and Micah Beckwith address the scandals surrounding them?
Statement from DCCC Spokesperson Courtney Rice:
“No matter which Republican emerges from this clown car of a primary to take on Christina Hale, they’ll be forced to answer for their party’s disastrous agenda of limiting access to affordable health care during a global pandemic and its record of looking out for big corporations and the wealthiest few at the expense of the middle class.”
