Four Years After Dobbs, A Reminder That John McGuire’s Anti-Abortion Record Will Be on the Ballot in November

Four years after the Supreme Court ripped reproductive rights away from millions of women, Congressman John McGuire has continued the work of further dismantling abortion rights in Congress.

McGuire’s anti-abortion record will be on the ballot in November, when Virginians will have a chance to enshrine their right to an abortion into the Commonwealth’s constitution. If McGuire had his way, abortion would be banned for Virginians.

  • McGuire co-sponsored a nationwide abortion ban without exceptions.
  • McGuire co-sponsored a deceptive anti-abortion bill that would criminalize doctors for providing abortion care.
  • McGuire voted against guaranteeing Virginians access to contraception.

POLITICO reports that Republicans like McGuire are “taking pains to avoid the topic” because he knows just how out-of-step his position is with Virginia voters.

DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“John McGuire has worked for years to ban abortion and rip away Virginia women’s freedom to make their own health care decisions. His extreme anti-abortion record will be on the ballot in November.”
