| Four years after the Supreme Court ripped reproductive rights away from millions of women, Ciscomani has continued the work of further dismantling abortion rights in Congress.
Ciscomani’s anti-women record is clear: he and House Republicans have continued to pass dangerous, draconian laws that endanger women’s lives and give Republican politicians like themselves power over decisions that belong to Arizona women.
From listening to anti-abortion extremists who bullied House Republicans to oppose extending the ACA tax credits, to voting to jail doctors and nurses who provide reproductive care, Ciscomani is out of step with the 60 percent of Americans who believe abortion should be legal.
REMINDER – Ciscomani has a clear track record of opposing women’s health care:
- Ciscomani backed a total abortion ban with no exceptions and IVF ban.
- Ciscomani voted to jail doctors and nurses who provide reproductive health care.
- Ciscomani voted to restrict the sale of safe, affordable abortion medication.
- Ciscomani repeatedly voted to block servicemembers, military families, and veterans from accessing reproductive health care.
- Ciscomani “proudly” voted for the Big, Ugly Bill, which forced Planned Parenthood Arizona to stop accepting patients enrolled in Medicaid – even for broad health care services including cancer screenings, blood tests, and access to contraception.
- Ciscomani refused to take a position on the VA’s nationwide abortion ban. His Democratic opponent, Marine veteran JoAnna Mendoza, publicly spoke out against the ban and submitted an official public comment to the VA.
DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Juan Ciscomani’s record is clear: he opposes women having the freedom to make their own health care decisions. A reliable vote for draconian laws to control women’s bodies, Ciscomani has no business representing Arizonans. Voters are already angry with Ciscomani’s unpopular agenda crushing their day to day lives, and they’ll hold him accountable for his anti-choice extremism at the ballot box this November.” |
