| Four years after the Supreme Court ripped reproductive rights away from millions of women, ‘MAGA Champion’ Kevin Kiley has continued the work of further dismantling abortion rights in Congress.
Despite California voters overwhelmingly supporting reproductive freedom, Kiley and his fellow MAGA extremists in Congress have continued to pass dangerous, draconian laws that endanger women’s lives and give Republican politicians like themselves power over decisions that belong to California women.
From his vote on the Big, Ugly Bill causing 5 Planned Parenthood clinic closures in Northern California, to listening to anti-abortion extremists who bullied House Republicans to oppose extending the ACA tax credits, to voting to jail doctors and nurses who provide reproductive care – Kiley is out of step with the 60 percent of Americans who believe abortion should be legal.
Kiley’s anti-women record speaks for itself:
- He called the overturning of Roe v. Wade the “appropriate decision” and claimed the Dobbs ruling “would change literally nothing.”
- He opposed abortion rights being enshrined by voters in California.
- He was a deciding vote on the Big, Ugly Bill which closed five Planned Parenthood health centers in Northern California, leaving thousands of patients without care.
- He has earned perfect marks from extreme anti-abortion groups.
- He has voted to block abortion access for servicemembers and veterans.
- He supported funneling taxpayer dollars to “crisis pregnancy centers.”
- He voted to restrict Mifepristone from being sold in retail pharmacies or by mail.
- He voted for a bill threatening doctors and health care providers with criminal penalties for providing reproductive care.
- He opposed protections against criminal punishment for providing abortion-related care.
- He voted against a bill to protect the licenses of doctors that perform abortion-related care.
- He voted against efforts to prevent insurance companies from imposing additional costs and barriers to abortion access.
