Four Years After Dobbs, Mariannette Miller-Meeks Is Still Working To Ban Abortion

Four years after the Supreme Court ripped reproductive rights away from millions of women and allowed Iowa to pass its extreme abortion ban, Mariannette Miller-Meeks has continued the work of further dismantling abortion rights in Congress.

Miller-Meeks’ record is clear: she endangered women’s lives by giving politicians like herself power over decisions that belong to women and their doctors.

  • Miller-Meeks cosponsored the Life At Conception Act: a total nationwide abortion ban with no exceptions for rape, incest, or the woman’s life.
  • Miller-Meeks voted to eliminate the right to an abortion entirely in Iowa.
  • Miller-Meeks signed on to the amicus brief urging SCOTUS to overturn Roe v. Wade.
  • Miller-Meeks supported bills that would threaten access to abortion, IVF, and contraception and even told the WSJ that she “has some concerns about the ethics around IVF.”
  • Miller-Meeks voted for a backdoor effort to pressure states with established legal protections for abortion into gradually stripping away abortion rights.

DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“Mariannette Miller-Meeks worked for years to overturn Roe and ban abortion, denying Iowa women the freedom to make their own health care decisions. She’s made things worse by passing draconian laws to control women’s health care and as voters are already angry with her unpopular agenda making their lives harder, voters will fire her this November.”
