Four Years After Dobbs, Tom Barrett Is Still Working To Ban Abortion

Four years after the Supreme Court ripped reproductive rights away from millions of women, Tom Barrett has continued the work of further dismantling abortion rights in Congress.

Barrett’s record is clear: he endangered women’s lives by giving politicians like himself power over decisions that belong to women and their doctors.

  • Barrett called himself “100% PRO-LIFE – NO EXCEPTIONS,” and suggested he’d consider a national abortion ban.
  • Barrett supported a failed attempt to reinstate Michigan’s 1931 abortion ban, which bans abortion without exceptions.
  • Barrett voted for a backdoor effort to pressure states with established legal protections into gradually stripping away abortion rights.
  • Barrett spoke at last fall’s March for Life rally where he touted federal legislation he supports to make it harder to access reproductive health care.

DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“Tom Barrett worked for years to overturn Roe and ban abortion, denying women the freedom to make their own health care decisions. Barrett is a reliable vote for draconian laws to control women’s health care, and as voters are already angry with his unpopular agenda making their lives harder, voters will fire him this November.”
