Four Years Since DACA Implementation and Hardy Remains on Wrong Side of History

Four years ago the Administration implemented the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program because House Republicans failed to address comprehensive immigration reform.

Congressman Hardy has joined his anti-reform Republican Party by voting for a cruel, historic amicus brief against expanded DACA and for massive deportations and voting for Republican leadership that promised not to address immigration reform. This lines up with Hardy’s anti-immigrant history that includes co-sponsoring a discriminatory bill in the Assembly to make English the state’s official language. Hardy was also recently caught misleading Latino votersagain – by saying one thing to English press and another to Spanish press.

But worst of all, Hardy says he supports Donald Trump “100 percent,” meaning he stands behind his divisive anti-immigrant platform.

“While reflecting on the success of DACA, it’s important to remember that it was Cresent Hardy’s party’s refusal to address comprehensive immigration reform that led the Administration to take action to protect families,” said Javier Gamboa of the DCCC. “Immigrant and Latino voters won’t forget that Hardy supports Trump and his divisive, un-American immigration plan ‘100 percent.’”
