Fox, Meet Henhouse: Republicans Pretend To Care About Health Care After Two Years of Slashing Care and Raising Costs

After two years of refusing to extend the ACA tax credits, cutting Medicaid, and raising health care costs for tens of millions of Americans, House Republicans have come to a starting realization: they have a health care problem.

NBC News and the New York Times report that Republicans’ Big, Ugly Bill is “starting to bite” as Americans increasingly feel the effects of the cuts to health care, food assistance, and tax giveaways to billionaires.

As a result, Republicans are starting to talk about health care in ads and on the campaign trail. Unfortunately for them, people want results, not talk, and voters won’t fall for the GOP’s lame attempt to spin their health care catastrophe into anything other than a bright red flag.

“House Republicans are talking about health care as if they haven’t spent decades slashing Medicaid, torching the ACA tax credits, and raising costs on tens of millions of Americans. If they’re looking for a culprit for their impending defeat, they should look in the mirror.”
