New Emerson poll also has congressional Democrats up by double digits
New polling from Fox News shows Democrats ahead 7 points on the generic congressional ballot – the highest level either party has received since 1996. On the decisive issues of the midterm race: the economy, inflation, and health care, voters say Democrats are better able to handle them all. Democrats are also now ahead of Republicans on immigration – erasing the 8 point edge Republicans had just 4 months ago.
Not only are House Democrats ahead in the generic congressional ballot, but Democrats are highly motivated to vote. By an 11% margin, more Democrats than Republicans say they are extremely motivated to vote in November’s midterms.
It’s not just the Fox News Poll that has Democrats leading the generic ballot with 53% of the vote. A new Emerson poll has Democrats receiving the same level of support – but notably with an 11 point advantage.
DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton: “The American people are angry, eager for change, and ready to power House Democrats to the majority. It’s easy to see why. House Republicans have made life more expensive for hardworking families while enriching themselves, and pushing a forever war – while footing the American taxpayer with the bill. Democrats have the message, momentum and the public heading into the midterms.”
