| As Republicans fail to lower the high cost of living (a central campaign promise in 2024), the American people are turning on Donald Trump.
According to a new poll from Fox News, Trump is 19 points underwater on the economy, being dragged down by Latinos (-26) and Independent voters (-60). 78% of Independents and 68% of voters overall do not think Trump is spending enough time on the economy.
What does all of this mean for the midterms?
Tom Bevan on Fox News last night: “That poll is really disturbing … Look at independents, look at Republicans, because that’s what the Republican Party needs and Trump needs for the midterms. And 78% of independents think that Trump isn’t spending enough time on the economy. That’s a huge number. The economy is the number one issue by an order of magnitude.”
DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“Donald Trump and House Republicans are losing the American public, and they will lose the House Majority.”
