Today, the DCCC announced that Francis Conole has been added to its competitive ‘Red to Blue’ program, signaling that national Democrats are invested in providing NY-22 and Conole, a top-tier candidate, the organizational and fundraising support needed to continue developing a strong campaign and flip NY-22 blue.
As an Iraq war veteran, Department of Defense policy advisor, and former intelligence officer, Conole has a proven record of service to our nation. In Congress, he will be a strong advocate for central New York families and workers, putting his constituents’ needs first.
With a GOP incumbent retiring, this seat is a top pick-up opportunity for House Democrats to expand their majority. The newly drawn NY-22 would have voted for Biden by seven points, and Cook Political Report rates this race a “Toss Up.”
DCCC Spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre
“The GOP is scrambling here because they know their party has gotten too extreme to represent Central New Yorkers. Francis Conole has a strong chance to flip NY-22 blue and ensure House Democrats can continue to deliver real results to the American people.”
