FRESH HUMILIATION: Vulnerable Republican Ryan Mackenzie’s “Cover Up Backfires in Mortifying Fashion” [Daily Mail]

After lying about his age on Tinder, Mackenzie “has been accused of deleting the embarrassing story from his Wikipedia page”

Ryan Mackenzie has literally been caught in 4K.

An explosive new story from the Daily Mail details how Mackenzie is facing “fresh humiliation” after his congressional office was accused of wiping his Wikipedia page to delete information about how he lied about his age on Tinder and lied about his vote for legislation to ban abortion without exceptions for rape and incest.

The Daily Mail reports that Mackenzie’s “top staffer has been accused of deleting the embarrassing stor[ies] from his Wikipedia page,” and that his failed cover up has “backfire[d] in mortifying fashion.”

DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Ryan Mackenzie is a sleazebag who lied about his age on Tinder and lied about his support for an extreme abortion ban – and now he’s only making the story worse with his sloppy attempt to clean it up. Lehigh Valley voters deserve to know: Is it true that Mackenzie asked his congressional staff to cover up his inappropriate behavior while working on the taxpayer dime?”

Daily Mail: Fresh humiliation for married congressman caught lying on TINDER as his cover-up backfires in mortifying fashion

  • GOP Congressman Ryan Mackenzie lied about his age on Tinder – and now he has been accused of trying to cover up the scandal ahead of a hotly contested election.

  • The Daily Mail exclusively revealed last June Mackenzie, now a freshman in the US House of Representatives, had been swiping on the dating and hookup app saying he was 29 when he was actually 37.

  • The story caused a stir. More than 100 women from his Pennsylvania district wrote a letter demanding an apology, and he was forced to address it in a national cable news interview.

  • Now, his top staffer has been accused of deleting the embarrassing story from his Wikipedia page.

  • A user called ATown1516 deleted a paragraph about the Tinder scandal, and references to Mackenzie’s controversial votes for a law that would ban abortion for rape and incest victims.

  • The user made 21 edits to Mackenzie’s page – but no edits to any other Wikipedia articles.

  • Mackenzie’s Communications Director, Arnaud Armstrong, used to live in Allentown at a house numbered 1516.

  • A Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) claims it was Armstrong who made the controversial cuts, in an attempt to cover up the story while Mackenzie ramps up his campaign to keep the deep purple district in 2026.

  • ‘Whether it’s lying to Lehigh Valley voters about voting for an abortion ban without exceptions for rape or incest, lying about his age on Tinder, or having his staff misleadingly edit his Wikipedia page, it’s clear voters can’t trust a word Mackenzie says,’ DCCC spokesman Eli Cousin told the Daily Mail.

  • Armstrong, 28, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

  • The Tinder scandal snowballed last year, prompting an open letter from more than 100 of his female constituents demanding an apology. At the time he was serving in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

  • ‘Trolling on Tinder for younger women is one thing (we can’t help but notice that you fudged your age by nearly a decade), but doing so while you are actively serving on the Pennsylvania State Legislature is another,’ the letter said.

  • It continued: ‘To make matters worse, you never took accountability for the lie, you just denied that you were married or engaged at the time’.

  • The 2020 Tinder profile for Mackenzie, who is now age 42, claimed he was ‘Always down for a good time! Outgoing, funny and enjoy traveling, skiing, trying new restaurants and getting drinks with friends.’

  • Screenshots of the profile from March 2020 show he messaged one woman, ‘Surviving the pandemic?’

  • One paragraph user ATown1516 deleted said: ‘Mackenzie faced criticism during his 2024 campaign when it was revealed that he had misrepresented his age on the dating app Tinder, listing himself as 29 instead of his actual age of 37, leading women in his constituency to request an apology.’

  • ‘Ryan Mackenzie has a long running issue with telling the truth – and now he’s been caught in a failed effort to cover up his record of lies,’ a statement on the DCCC website said.

  • Mackenzie won Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District in 2024 by a narrow margin of 4,062 votes, beating Wild by just 1%.
