Frontline and ‘Red to Blue’ Democrats Demand Republicans Stand Up for Americans Amid Global Pandemic

28 Million Americans Need Access to Health Care As COVID-19 Continues to Claim Lives

This week, Frontline and “Red to Blue” Democrats condemned the Trump Administration’s decision not to reopen ACA enrollment and stood up against Republican-led efforts to make it harder for uninsured Americans to get covered amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The decision not to designate a special enrollment period could worsen the pandemic by discouraging many of the country’s 28 million uninsured Americans from getting care and making it harder for the 10 million newly jobless Americans to get covered.

Here’s what they’re saying:

Hiral Tipirneni (AZ-06)

Gil Cisneros (CA-39)

Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (FL-26)

Betsy Dirksen Londrigan (IL-13)

Susan Wild (PA-07)

Eugene DePasquale (PA-10)

Haley Stevens (MI-11)

Angie Craig (MN-02)

Jill Schupp (MO-02)

Chris Pappas (NH-01)

Elaine Luria (VA-02)

Abigail Spanberger (VA-07)

Statement from DCCC spokesperson Darwin Pham:

“Democrats will continue to fight to ensure Americans have access to the care and resources they need to weather this crisis. President Trump and Washington Republicans need to stop putting politics over people’s lives and let uninsured Americans get the health coverage they need amid this growing global pandemic.”
