Gabe Evans Flees Washington, Leaving Millions in Jeopardy of Losing Health Care

Evans’ own constituents could see health care premiums rise up to 195%

Gabe Evans and House Republicans left town on Friday with no plans to return to D.C. before October, ditching any plans to address the health care crisis they created. In Evans’ own district, health care premiums could soar 176-195% – a devastating blow to Coloradans already struggling to make ends meet.

But Evans doesn’t seem to care about Coloradans’ rising costs. Just this week, he voted to cede congressional power on pricehiking tariffs to Donald Trump.

If the ACA tax credits expire, health care costs could jump and millions could lose care just months after Evans and Republicans enacted the largest cuts to Medicaid in American history.

New Joint Committee on Taxation data confirms the ACA tax credits overwhelmingly help working and middle-class families, with 24 million Americans at risk of seeing health care costs spike if Republicans fail to act.

DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Gabe Evans refused to address the looming health care crisis he created and, as a result, is skipping town. The DCCC will make sure Colordans know it was Evans who had the chance to extend ACA tax credits — and chose not to.”
