Gabe Evans Says He “Rolls [His] Eyes” at the Idea of Lowering Coloradans’ Health Care Costs

If Republicans fail to act, Evans’ own constituents could see their ACA premiums spike up to 195% next year

Gabe Evans is making it clear that he doesn’t care if his own constituents see their health care premiums spike nearly 200%, even telling a radio host that he “roll[s] [his] eyes” at the idea of lowering health care costs.

Host: This is the Democratic line right now, [from] Chuck Schumer and others, that [Republicans] are keeping health care away from those who need it in the United States today.

Evans: [Laughs] I roll my eyes.

Evans doubled down, telling CBS News Colorado that “enhanced premium tax credits… [are] a smokescreen”

These ACA tax credits – which help middle class Coloradans afford health care – would help prevent Coloradans in Evans’ district from seeing their premiums spike 176-195% next year.

That’s not a smokescreen. That’s reality.

Evans just doesn’t seem to care.

“I roll my eyes.”

DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Gabe Evans’ priorities are clear: gut Coloradans’ health care to pay for tax breaks for billionaires. As if slashing Medicaid wasn’t cruel enough, now Evans is refusing to extend a crucial lifeline that helps thousands of his own constituents afford health insurance. Coloradans will suffer, but Evans couldn’t seem to care less.”
