Gabe Evans, Scott James Are Silent on Challenge to Colorado’s “Ghost Gun” Ban

Extremists working to challenge Colorado’s new gun safety measures serve as an ever-present reminder that Gabe Evans and Scott James are too out-of-step with Coloradans, who overwhelmingly consider preventing gun violence a top concern.

Evans was endorsed by the NRA in 2022 and voted against gun safety legislation as a state Senator. James repeatedly supported giving people with known records of violence access to guns and voted twice to authorize the Weld County Sheriff to ignore the state’s so-called “red flag law.”

The state’s newly-enacted gun safety law will more comprehensively protect Coloradans from gun violence – and by staying silent, James and Evans are standing with extremists over families, making it clear they won’t prioritize Coloradans’ safety.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“Coloradans want leaders who will keep them safe from senseless gun violence. Scott James and Gabe Evans’ extreme records on guns already tell voters everything they need to know, and their silence is deafening.”
