With new efforts underway to enshrine abortion protections in the state constitution, it couldn’t be more clear that anti-choice extremists Gabe Evans and Scott James are out of step with Coloradans, who overwhelmingly support the right to choose.
Evans supported banning abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest. James introduced a “Sanctity of Life” resolution before the Weld County Commission that sought to undermine abortion protections outlined in Colorado law. He also called Colorado’s current abortion protections “horrible.”
There’s no doubt James and Evans have extreme anti-choice agendas – but now, they must come clean and tell Coloradans if they support giving voters the choice to further protect their reproductive rights.
DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“There’s no question Scott James and Gabe Evans are on a mission to ban abortion nationwide. But do they at least respect voters enough to support giving them a voice when it comes to protecting their reproductive freedoms?”
