Gabe Evans’ Tariffs Are Tanking Colorado’s Economy

It’s bad enough that Evans’ and D.C. Republicans’ tax scam blew a near one-billion-dollar hole in the Centennial State’s budget. Now, Evans is ceding his own oversight authority on price-hiking tariffs that could cost Colorado an additional $1.4 billion each year.

REMINDER: Evans has repeatedly voted to greenlight reckless tariffs that are “having a jarring impact” across Colorado.

Here’s just some of damage Evans’ tariffs are doing:

• Construction in Colorado is “buckling,” with tariffs on steel, aluminum, and copper jacking up project expenses by 15-25% and new home construction costs by 4-6%.
• Beef exports are down nearly $40 million compared to the same time last year, which experts predict will cost hundreds of jobs and $80 million in lost economic output. (You’d think alleged rancher Evans would care that he’s tanking the state’s #1 export!)
• Colorado families are paying $600 million more for automobiles and household appliances this year.
• Schools and health care facilities could lose as much as $805 million in revenue by this time next year.
• Retail sales are expected to drop for the next three years.
• Grocery prices are up.

“Gabe Evans promised to lower costs, but his policies are doing the exact opposite. Prices are up on everything from groceries to cars to school supplies, and Evans refuses to do anything about it. Coloradans know Evans is nothing more than a spineless fraud, and they’ll fire him for it next November.”
