Gabe Evans Votes For Higher Health Care Costs for Coloradans

Evans votes to block ACA tax credits and allow premium costs to keep rising

As health care costs continue to skyrocket thanks to House Republicans letting ACA tax credits expire, Gabe Evans seems to have no problem making life even more expensive for Coloradans.

Evans just voted against a bipartisan effort to extend ACA tax credits for three years. Yesterday, Evans even tried – and failed – to block the proposal from coming to the floor for a vote.

Evans previously said he “roll[s] [his] eyes” at the idea of lowering Coloradans’ health care costs, even calling the ACA tax credits a “smokescreen.” Evans’ constituents have been some of the hardest hit by the expired credits, with some in his district paying up to 200% more this year for the same health care plans.

The DCCC will continue holding Evans accountable for his long record of attacking affordable health care and breaking his promise to lower costs for Coloradans.

DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Today’s vote is another cruel reminder that Gabe Evans doesn’t care about Coloradans struggling to keep up with skyrocketing health care bills and is instead actively working to raise costs. Voters will remember Evans’ betrayal at the ballot box.”
