Excerpts from Rep. Vasquez’s interview with Al Punto:
(Translated from Spanish)

  • “My grandfather taught himself how to fix TVs and worked in repair shops.”

  • “Everyone in my family, including my mom, worked in this repair shop. When I was 9 or 10 years old they put a screwdriver in my hand and I worked in this repair shop too.”

  • “As a first generation American I always felt a lot of responsibility to honor the sacrifices my family made to come to this country.”

  • “Now that I’m in congress, it is an honor to have this opportunity, which I take very seriously.”

  • “I just introduced a series of bills to help all Americans…one, known as the Inflation Relief Act, would put $900 back in the American’s pockets.”

  • “It is a tax rebate that would ensure everyone who is struggling with the impacts of rising costs, whether that is on gas, groceries, health care, or housing, can have $900 back in their pockets that, thanks to this legislation which I just introduced in Congress, would ease the burden of rising costs.”
