George Logan Looks to Lose Again

Far-Right Launch Sets Logan Up for Failure

It’s tough to launch a campaign in a state Republicans haven’t had a win in since 2006. It’s even harder when you just lost a campaign for state legislature and don’t live in the district. But George Logan apparently doesn’t like the easy road after taking extreme far right positions in his first week as a candidate.

  • Logan opposed the recent round of individual stimulus checks and support for Connecticut small businesses.

  • Logan opposed the creation of a tax cut for middle and working class families in Connecticut — which will help 115,300 children in CT-05.

  • Logan aligned himself with the MAGA wing of the Republican Party in opposing the current investigation into January 6th’s Capitol storming.

  • Logan said he would likely vote for election denier Kevin McCarthy to be GOP leader and even invited McCarthy to campaign with him in Connecticut.

  • Logan dodged a question about whether he believed Biden won the 2020 election fairly.

  • In the state legislature, Logan opposed paid family medical leave and raising the minimum wage.

James Singer, DCCC Spokesperson

“George Logan is launching his campaign for Congress as a vote for GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy and his extreme right-wing caucus. He lost last November for the same reason he’ll be rejected again next year — his extreme policies hurt Connecticut families.”
