George Santos Doubles Down on ‘Default on America Act’

Santos’ ‘NO’ Vote Tonight Reinforces ‘Default on America Act’s’ Extreme Cuts that Hurt Working Families

This evening, George Santos doubled-down on his extreme vote to cut veterans’ benefits, funding for law enforcement agencies, and critical investments that keep working families safe, secure, and healthy. Santos is willing to push for these disastrous cuts and hold our economy hostage – triggering a job-killing recession and gutting Americans’ retirement savings – if he doesn’t get his way.

The DCCC will continue to hold Santos accountable for continuing to push an extreme, out-of-touch agenda that hurts hardworking American families.

Last month, the DCCC detailed just how devastating these cuts would be to Long Island and communities across the country.

DCCC Spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
“George Santos has made crystal clear that he will always put his extreme agenda above investing in the needs of working families in his district. Whether it’s slashing veterans’ benefits or threatening hard-earned benefits that seniors have worked hard for, it’s clear that Santos is too out-of-step and extreme to represent Long Island any more.”
