George Santos Praises Corrupt New Rules That Could Shield Him from Ethics Investigations

Santos calls new rules package that guts ethics office “fantastic

Yesterday, George Santos voted in favor of House Republicans’ extreme rule changes that would gut the Office of Congressional Ethics, a nonpartisan, independent body charged with reviewing allegations of misconduct against House lawmakers and staff.

This corrupt vote comes just as Santos is faced with multiple OCE complaints for potentially falsifying his financial disclosures and violating federal law by using official resources to solicit campaign funds.

Santos’ praise of this rule change proves to voters he has no intention whatsoever to hold himself accountable for his potential crimes and unethical behavior. Instead, he’s focused his power yet again on putting his own ambition above Long Island.

DCCC Spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
“Just days into the Republican majority, the GOP’s self-serving agenda is on full display as they work to make it easier for frauds like Santos to avoid accountability. Long Islanders should be very worried that Santos is celebrating this corrupt move.”
