GOP Agenda in GA-02 Primary: Casting Doubt on the COVID-19 Vaccine

Does the GA-02 Republican primary field agree with Richard Robertson that the COVID-19 vaccine “isn’t really a vaccine”?

Over the weekend, five Republican candidates in GA-02 held a forum to outline the GOP agenda they would bring to Georgia. As one can easily imagine, the conversation inevitably shifted into the dangerous and absurd, with one of the candidates casting doubt on the life-saving COVID-19 vaccine:

“I am concerned about all these military that were forced out of the military because they refused to take a vaccine that isn’t really a vaccine. In the NDAA, we need to make sure that all those people that got kicked out for that they come back in.” – Rich Robertson

Rich Robertson demonstrated his complete departure from reality by hawking conspiracy theorist talking points, attempting to discredit a vaccine that has saved millions of lives.

This shameful misinformation about the vaccine shows what Georgia Republicans have to offer if they’re elected to Congress in November. Voters deserve to know: Do Wayne Johnson, Vivian Childs, Jeremy Hunt, and Chris West agree that the life-saving COVID vaccine “isn’t really a vaccine”?

“Radical Republicans across the country are in a dead sprint to adopt the most unhinged and dangerous positions,” said DCCC spokesperson Monica Robinson. “Casting doubt on the life-saving COVID vaccine is just the tip of the iceberg. Georgians will see through this extremism and reject Republicans at the ballot box in November.”
