IRVINE – In case you missed it, the Columbus Dispatch is reporting that NRCC Chairman Steve Stivers came out in support of a higher gas tax after attacking California Democrats on this comparable issue. DCCC spokesperson Drew Godinich released the following statement:
“NRCC Chair Steve Stivers supporting a higher gas tax after his organization has repeatedly attempted to hammer CA Democrats on this issue takes the Republicans’ hypocrisy to new heights. In search of a campaign message, the NRCC has tried to make this election about anything other than their disastrous track record. Congressman Stivers’ statement again makes clear that this issue was never about Californians, but about protecting Republicans’ increasingly imperiled majority in Washington.”
