Guns Not Butter: New Analysis Reveals Trump’s Reckless War is Costing Americans EVEN MORE For Health Care, Child Care, and Other Critical Services

Day Care for 2 million, food for 12.5 million, 3 million more Americans covered by health care – all could be paid for with the billions spent on the war

With House Republicans falling in line and supporting Trump’s costly and reckless war of choice in Iran, a new analysis by NBC News puts it all into stark perspective:

More bad news for Republicans: new inflation numbers show that the war is driving costs higher, which also explains why a majority of Americans oppose it, and are increasingly upset about the overall state of the economy under Republican rule.

Despite all the evidence that the public hates their cuts to health care to pay for billionaire tax breaks, House Republicans have decided to double down on their disastrous agenda. Even with $28 billion already spent on the war, House Republicans are scheming to make even deeper cuts to health care and popular domestic programs that everyday American families count on.

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“Elections are about choices, and House Republicans are broadcasting to voters that they are choosing Trump over making life affordable for everyday Americans. Their cruel agenda is costing hardworking families today, and it’s going to cost Republicans the majority in November.”

REMINDER: All cycle, the DCCC has been making sure voters know who is responsible for the health care crisis working families face today through a series of digital ads and billboards across the House battlefield. It’s clear that the unprecedented attack by House Republicans on health care will cost them the majority, and the DCCC will highlight their cruel, harmful agenda every day from now until election day.
