HAPPENING SOON: Hardy to Learn at Least One Thing About Marco Rubio

Hardy Expected to Take Notes on Anti-Immigration Platform

After his terrible performance on MSNBC as a Marco Rubio surrogate yesterday, Cresent Hardy will be watching the last Republican debate before Super Tuesday very, very closely.

After tonight’s CNN/Telemundo debate, Hardy’s notebook will be full of Rubio’s extreme anti-immigration positions, which include ruling out a pathway to citizenship, ending DACA, and promising to build a 700-mile border wall and deporting “criminal aliens.”

Hardy should be relieved to know there isn’t much daylight between the two of them. Hardy has made disparaging comments about immigrants – like referring to some as “drains on society” – and has an extreme legislative record. Hardy sponsored a bill in Nevada’s state legislature that was compared to Arizona’s controversial “show me your papers” law and cosponsored “English-only” legislation.

“The education of Cresent Hardy will begin tonight when he learns that Marco Rubio’s extreme immigration positions aren’t too far off from his own,” said Barb Solish of the DCCC. “Hardy’s endorsement of Rubio will only remind voters in the highly competitive 4th District just how out of step he is.”

The Democratic-leaning 4th Congressional District was just listed as one of the most likely House seats to be flipped in 2016.
