YouTube vlogger Harold Earls’s young congressional campaign has been hit with yet another complaint — this time from the Federal Election Commission, which sent his campaign a warning this week after finding nearly $40,000 in contributions that appear to surpass the legal limits.
This isn’t the first time Harold Earls is under the microscope of a federal agency — in June, the Department of Defense launched an investigation over whether he “abused his position” by using footage of “Gold Star families burying and mourning dead service members, and close-ups of graves” in a campaign video.
As for Harold’s explanation for why he appears to have accepted nearly $40,000 in illegal campaign contributions? Don’t hold your breath. Harold Earls “didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.”
“Harold Earls should probably just stick to the YouTube thing,” said DCCC spokesperson Monica Robinson.
