What are New Yorkers reading about Mike Lawler’s Big, Ugly Bill? Nothing good.
Lawler cast a decisive vote to betray his own constituents in the name of partisan politics and tax breaks for the rich, and now New Yorkers are learning just how devastating it could be for their communities.
The New York Times reports that Lawler’s tax scam is expected to “have a seismic effect on health insurance and health care in New York.” New York Focus says the bill will force New York to “confront billions in lost federal funding for the state’s largest and oldest safety net programs.” And LoHud reports that Lawler’s vote could slash “63,000 health care-related jobs” in New York, calling it a “turning point for the industry.”
