Another day, another COVID conspiracy for the horse dewormer industry’s favorite congresswoman, Rep. Yvette Herrell (NM-02). As COVID continues to wreak havoc on the working families of her district, Health Hazard Herrell is prolonging the pandemic by spreading COVID conspiracies.
How much more can New Mexicans take? Let’s take a tour through Health Hazard Herrell’s antivax attacks:
-
On Monday, ABC 7 aired a shocking interview with Health Hazard Herrell tripling down on her ardent support for an animal dewormer the FDA, CDC, and New Mexico’s own Health Secretary are warning the public against consuming.
-
On Wednesday, Herrell’s hometown newspaper the Las Cruces Sun-Times, fact-checked her COVID conspiracies and highlighted her dangerous comments referring to vaccines as an “alternative” to horse dewormer.
-
On August 30th, Albuquerque’s The Paper hit Health Hazard Herrell for pushing Ivermectin after reports that livestock dewormer stores sold out of the dangerous-for-humans medication.
-
On August 26th, KOB 4 in Albuquerque also called out Health Hazard Herrell’s Ivermectin promotion after New Mexico’s poison control had gotten 14 calls about it, which is more than double last year, and there are similar reports in many other states, including Texas. The CDC also issued an advisory that week, warning of a rapid increase in reports of severe illness related to people taking livestock medication.
-
These COVID conspiracies are only the latest examples of a month-long crusade to spread disinformation. Health Hazard Herrell responded to pro-science arguments against Ivermectin for humans by propagating a since-debunked study.
