Child Tax Credit payments begin today, benefitting a stunning 90.4% of children in CA-10
Today, thanks to Democrats in Congress like Rep. Harder passing the American Rescue Plan, nearly 55,000 CA-10 households will receive their first monthly Child Tax Credit (CTC) payment to help support their families.
The CTC, which has been expanded and improved through the ARP, will offer working families a lifeline and help secure a stronger future for the nation’s children.
The monthly payments, which every Republican in Congress voted against, will start hitting bank accounts today, July 15. This benefit will:
- Provide $300 per month per child for children under six years of age;
- Provide $250 per month per children 6 to 17 years of age;
- And help working Americans cover the costs of childcare, prepare for the back-to-school season, and get parents back in the workforce, helping American families make ends meet.
DCCC Spokesperson, Adrian Eng-Gastelum
“With this expanded Child Tax Credit, Rep. Harder is lifting thousands of children out of poverty and giving hardworking parents in his district additional resources to provide for their children as we recover from this pandemic. While Republicans in Congress voted to keep this critical relief out of the hands of families, Democrats fought to ensure everyday Americans were provided with this relief.”
