Herrell’s History is Against New Mexicans

Today, President Biden will share the tremendous accomplishments made under the 117th Congress that are creating clean energy jobs, cooling inflation, and lowering prescription drug costs for New Mexicans.

Yvette Herrell, who represented New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional district during the 117th Congress, voted against New Mexicans by voting against the Inflation Reduction Act.

While President Biden discusses clean energy and new jobs for New Mexico and achievements made under a House Democratic majority, remember that Herrell voted against:

  • Capping the cost of insulin to $35/month for Medicare recipients

  • Allowing Medicare the power to negotiate drug costs

  • Creating clean energy jobs and lowering energy costs

If Yvette Herrell had her way, New Mexicans wouldn’t have any of these wins.

DCCC spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“Yvette Herrell’s voting history from last Congress makes clear she is against everyday New Mexicans, and her right-wing agenda would be catastrophic for New Mexico’s economy. Prescription drug costs are dropping, jobs are being created, and Medicare is finally able to negotiate drug prices only because New Mexico’s Democrats voted in favor of the IRA, as opposed to Herrell.”
