“HE’S FANTASTIC”: Trump Confirms Mike ‘Lapdog’ Lawler Is His Guy

Any Hudson Valley voter still hearing out Mike Lawler’s phony ‘moderate’ routine got a wake-up call on Friday.

Standing front and center at Trump’s MAGA rally, Lawler made his loyalties crystal clear: touting his “strong” alliance with Donald Trump, proudly saying it was “a big honor” to have Trump in NY-17, and loudly declaring on stage that he was “proud to be here to­day for Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump.”

Trump quickly returned the favor: “Mike Lawler is fantastic. He’s fantastic. He’s a terrific guy. You’re lucky to have him.”

Lawler then took a victory lap on his Big, Ugly Bill, praising Trump’s tax scam and defending its devastating cuts to his own constituents’ health care.

Several outlets have reported that Trump’s “record-low approval numbers, including on his handling of a sluggish economy” make Lawler’s “wholehearted embrace” of Trump a “very risky move […] with the po­ten­tial of be­ing po­lit­i­cally ex­is­ten­tial.”

One Republican strategist even called Trump’s visit to campaign with Lawler a “head-scratcher.”
