Hezbollah Uses Trump’s Words to Criticize America – Lee Zeldin Still Wants a Trump Presidency

What does Trump’s top TV surrogate, Congressman Lee Zeldin, have to say about his candidate’s dangerous rhetoric being used to bolster a terrorist group’s propaganda?

Yesterday, ABC News reported that the head of the terrorist group Hezbollah “used Trump’s claim last week that Obama and Clinton were behind the extremist group ISIS’s establishment to bolster his criticism of the U.S. administration in a speech in Lebanon.”

And yet Lee Zeldin continues to stand by Trump – even as 50 prominent Republican national security experts recently argued that Trump “would be the most reckless president in American history.”

The Congressman has a responsibility to explain why he still thinks Trump is fit to serve as president.

As a top campaign surrogate, No-Show Lee Zeldin needs to answer for Trump’s reckless rhetoric that is now being used to bolster a terrorist group’s propaganda,” said Bryan Lesswing at the DCCC. “Just as reckless as his presidential pick, it’s important for Long Island voters to know that No-Show Lee also blew off ISIS and veterans hearings in Congress.”

Trump’s dangerous remarks are a stark reminder of Zeldin’s own reckless record of blowing off ISIS and veterans hearings in Congress.

Earlier this year, the New York Post found that Zeldin “missed more than half of full [Foreign Affairs] committee hearings last year.”

Zeldin was also “absent 67 percent of time – when looking at full committee and subcommittee hearings focused just on ISIS and the Syrian crisis – issues Zeldin regularly lectures about on cable news.”

Last week, Newsday reported on findings from the DCCC showing that Zeldin skipped out of two-thirds of Veterans Committee hearings.
