“High Gas Prices Could Cost” Jay Feely “At the Ballot Box” [KTAR News]

68% of Arizonans say gas prices are “likely to influence” how they vote in the midterms, including 74% of moderates and 56% of Republicans

In the latest warning sign for rubberstamp Republican Jay Feely, a new survey of Arizonans reveals that roughly 2 in 3 voters – including more than half of Republicans and nearly three quarters of moderates – say that “gas prices are likely to influence their choices” in November.

The survey results come alongside reports that gas prices in Arizona could “set all-time records” because of the ongoing war of choice in Iran.

Feely has repeatedly defended Trump’s reckless war in Iran despite the risk to servicemembers abroad and the costs to Arizonans back home.

KTAR News: High gas prices could cost Arizona candidates at ballot box, new poll shows

  • High gas prices aren’t just costing drivers at the pump — they could end up costing candidates at the ballot box, too, according to a new poll of Arizona voters.
  • Sixty-eight percent of respondents in a recent Arizona Public Opinion Pulse poll by Noble Predictive Insights said gas prices are likely to influence their choices in the upcoming midterm elections.
  • The poll, which surveyed Arizona 996 voters on May 5-7, found 90% were concerned about rising fuel prices, including 75% of Democrats and 54% of Republicans who said they were “very concerned.”
  • Noble said the polling shows fuel costs are becoming as much of a political issue as an economic one.
  • “Gas prices are not just a Republican issue or a Democratic issue,” he said. “But in this poll, the political intensity is actually stronger among some of the voters Democrats need most — younger voters (82%), Hispanics (79%), parents (80%) and moderates (74%).”
