High-Speed Internet Investments Coming to Iowa, No Thanks to Hinson and Miller-Meeks

Hinson and Miller-Meeks tried to kill the bill that made these critical infrastructure investments in rural Iowa possible

Thanks to House Democrats, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is investing in broadband service, bringing faster, cheaper high-speed internet access to Iowans.

But if Ashley Hinson and Mariannette Miller-Meeks had their way, this expanded internet access for rural Iowans would never have been possible. When they had the chance to lower costs for tens of thousands of Iowa families and improve rural broadband access for their constituents, they sided with their Washington party bosses and voted no.

“Iowa currently ranks 32nd in the country for broadband access, and Ashley Hinson and Mariannette Miller-Meeks’ vote against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law makes clear that they’re more than happy to keep it that way,” said DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “Hinson and Miller-Meeks continue to prove that they would rather blindly follow MAGA Republican party leaders than work across the aisle to deliver results for Iowans.”
