HILARIOUS: Freitas Endorsed By Two Former Politicians Who Lost In VA-07 After Working To Repeal ACA

Brat and Cantor Join “Forces,” Throw “Weight” Behind Special Interest Darling

Freitas To Follow His Endorsers’ Footsteps In Promising To Gut Health Care, Losing In VA-07

Being endorsed by two men who have both lost VA-07 is a weird flex, but here we are.

Former Congressman turned investment banker Eric Cantor and Former Congressman turned Liberty University official Dave Brat have joined forces to campaign for special interest darling Nick Freitas.

Brat was rejected by Central Virginia voters in 2018 after voting nine times to repeal or gut the Affordable Care Act without any replacement. And his relationship with dark money and special interest donors runs deep. While in Congress, Brat voted for the 2017 tax bill that gave more than 80 percent of its benefits to the wealthiest Americans and rewarded powerful special interests.

Cantor, whose stunning defeat by Brat in the VA-07 Republican primary rocked the Republican caucus, led the anti-health care movement in the House and led the charge to repeal the ACA. Cantor also received millions of dollars from special interests while in Washington.

There’s a reason these two enemies of health care are supporting Freitas, he’s just like them. But don’t take our word for it…

Independent fact-checkers say Nick Freitas fully supports a plan to repeal the health care law saying in part that: “Some Republicans have favored repealing Obamacare before a replacement is found. That includes Freitas.”

You know what they say about birds of a feather…

“Touting the endorsement of two failed Congressmen who both lost in Virginia’s Seventh District is an odd, but unsurprising choice. Freitas’ record of pushing for health care repeal and his close ties to Washington’s special interests tells you everything you need to know about his priorities: ripping away health care from Central Virginians, gutting protections for people with pre-existing conditions, and kowtowing to special interests in Washington. These endorsements are just another reminder of the kind of Washington politician Nick Freitas dreams of being,” said DCCC Spokesperson Christine Bennett.
