New reporting from CNN is calling out Republicans who railed against and tried to stop passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law – calling the bill “socialist” or “radical” – who are now asking the Biden administration for funding for local projects.
Republicans who have begged for money despite voting to stop the law:
-
NRCC Chair Tom Emmer
-
Vulnerable Rep. David Valadao
-
Vulnerable Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar
-
Vulnerable Rep. Ashley Hinson
-
Vulnerable Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks
Hypocritical Republicans voting against a bill and trying to take credit for its local investments is nothing new. See the DCCC “Voted No, Took the Dough” dashboard for more examples.
DCCC spokesperson Tommy Garcia:
“If these Republicans had their way, none of the critical infrastructure investments happening across the country would be possible. Voters know that when given the opportunity these sell-out Republicans chose party over community.
