In this edition: Brandon Beach and Marjorie Taylor Greene gang up on Karen Handel and the Georgia GOP clown car keeps on rolling
There’s blood in the water and Georgia Republicans can smell it.
After being thrown out of office in 2018, former Congresswoman Karen Handel couldn’t even clear the field in her desperate attempt to climb back into Congress. Now, six (!) Republican candidates are running in GA-06.
With the dust settled on this past fundraising quarter, things are getting even worse for Handel. Despite being Washington Republicans’ handpicked candidate, the former congresswoman was outraised by a state senator – Brandon Beach – $210,000 to his $235,000. That teed up Beach to head to conservative talk radio and start crowing.
From the Atlanta Journal Constitution:
“Brandon Beach leveled his most direct attack yet against former U.S. Rep. Karen Handel in an interview with a Washington radio show, mocking his 6th District rival’s defeats before he agreed with a host who called her a ‘Never Trumper.’”
And fresh off pumping $500,000 into her own campaign for GA-06 and sensing vulnerability in Handel’s, Marjorie Taylor Greene took shots of her own: slamming Handel’s insufficient Trumpiness and her 2018 loss to Rep. Lucy McBath.
Handel and her team took the bait and fired back, but they should probably be more focused on themselves as Handel was once again caught inflating her fundraising numbers by nearly $100,000 – just like she did in April.
When things are getting this bad, you’ve got to take the wins where you can get them… even if you pluck them out of thin air.
