Once-in-a-generation investment will rebuild America’s crumbling infrastructure and create millions of good-paying, union jobs
House Democrats delivered a huge win for the American people yesterday by passing President Biden’s wildly popular infrastructure package. The legislation makes game-changing investments in clean infrastructure, significantly expands broadband access, rebuilds our crumbling roads and bridges, strengthens our climate resilience, and provides millions of Americans with good-paying union jobs.
This infrastructure package is the largest long-term investment in our nation’s infrastructure and competitiveness in nearly a century, and thanks to Democrats, American families across the country will feel the effects of this legislation in their communities for generations to come.
While extremist House Republicans overwhelmingly voted “NO” on this legislation that a majority of the American people support, Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats worked to ensure Congress passed this legislation that will invest not only in our roads, but in the American people, creating millions of good-paying union jobs and growing the economy in a way that works better for everyone.

Investments to upgrade the nation’s roads and bridges as well as our port and airport infrastructure in order to compete in the 21st century

The largest ever investment in public transit and passenger rail that will ensure the majority of Americans are within walking distance from frequent, affordable transit by 2030
