Donald Trump is steamrolling his way to the Republican nomination, yet the rank-and-file are fleeing to Rubio’s camp. This is nothing more than a last-ditch attempt to create some plausible deniability before the GOP is flattened by Trump.
“If targeted Republicans believe they can escape the sinking of the GOP Trumptanic by pointing out their last minute endorsement of Marco Rubio, they are sorely mistaken,” said Matt Thornton. “Trump is the Party’s frontrunner – plain and simple. And at the end of the day, they are either going to have to run and hide from the top of the ticket, opposing the Republican standard bearer, or they are going to have to wrap their arms around Trump’s misogynistic, xenophobic message. The ‘Don’t Blame Me, I Endorsed Rubio’ t-shirt just isn’t going to cut it.”
