House Republicans and the Trump administration are destroying Social Security – and boasting about it.
First, House Republicans fully submitted to Elon Musk’s plan to gut the agency, which cut phone lines, fired staff, and laid off workers through his cruel DOGE effort.
Second, the administration’s Howard Lutnick openly joked that people wouldn’t complain if seniors missed payment and offices closed.
Third, House Republicans voted for the Big, Ugly Law, which Scott Bessent admitted was a “backdoor for privatizing Social Security.”
Now, a new report has found that Social Security offices lost an estimated 20% of staff this year.
And if that wasn’t enough, in another example of the Republican obsession to dismantle Social Security, the Administration is rolling out a proposal to cut disability benefits to recipients.

“Republicans are engaged in an all-out crusade to destroy Social Security. While so-called moderate House Republicans lie about how they want to protect it, their actions say otherwise. The millions of seniors and working class Americans who rely on this vital lifeline won’t forget this betrayal come next November.”
